Link your account to Facebook, Google Play, Game Center, or Apple to save your progress and your city.
If you have an underage account, you may not be able to use some game features. Read about online access for underage accounts.
How to link your account to save progress
SimCity BuildIt automatically saves your progress to your device, but you could lose your game data if you lose your device or have to uninstall the game. Save your city by linking your account to Facebook, Google Play, Game Center, or Apple. This lets you recover your city if you need to reinstall the game. Save your city on your original device before you try to play on another device. Our servers need to know which city you plan to keep.- 1Tap the Settings icon.
- 2Log in with your Facebook, Google Play, Game Center, or Apple account. Once logged in, your progress and city are saved.
Keep in mind: The connection between a city and a Facebook, Game Center, Google Play, or Apple login is permanent.
Unlinking an account
We don’t suggest unlinking your account as you risk losing your city. Learn about the risks of unlinking your account so that you can make the choice that’s right for you.Which accounts can SCBI link to?
- Facebook: Sync your city across Android, Apple, and Amazon devices. You can also visit your Facebook friends’ cities.
- Facebook accounts can log in alongside Game Center, Google Play, or Apple, depending on which platform you’re playing on.
- Game Center: Sync your city across Apple devices and collect Game Center achievements.
- Google Play: Sync your city across Android devices and collect Google Play achievements.
- Apple: Sync your city across Apple devices.
- Planning to play on a mix of Android, Apple, and Amazon devices? Log in to Facebook first, then connect to Google Play or Game Center.
How to load your city on a new device
If you got a new device or need to reinstall your game, here’s how to recover your saved city.- 1Download the game on your new device.
- 2Play through the tutorial until the City Advisor tells you that you're on your own.
- 3Tap the Settings icon and log in with your account.
- If you don’t see a login option you're not done with the tutorial yet, so keep going.
- If you’ve played the tutorial and still don’t see an option to log in, you might be playing on an underage account. Mayor Clubs and the Global Market won’t be available on these accounts.
Troubleshooting
If you’re having trouble loading your city on a new device, try these steps before contacting us:
- Make sure the original city was saved. If you didn’t save your original city through the in-game settings, you won’t be able to access that city again on any device. If you still have access to the game on your old device, save your city on the old device before trying to load it on your new device again.
- Make sure you log in to the correct social account. The connection between a city and a social account login is permanent. If you tried to load your city to a new device using a different social account than the one you originally linked to, uninstall then reinstall the game. Then log in again with the correct social account you used to save your game.
- Error message: "Account already linked to another city". Two different saved cities can’t be loaded over each other. If you see this message, uninstall and reinstall the game. Then log in again with the correct account you used to save your game.
- Tapped Log Out in the in-game Settings? Removed the game’s permissions from your Facebook account? Don’t worry, you won’t lose your city. Your city’s progress is still saved by those accounts but you won’t be able to see your friends until you log back in.
