Overview

Is your child ready to upgrade to a teen EA Account? Learn when and how to age up their account and what that means for their settings.

When can a child upgrade to a teen account?

If you created an EA Account for someone under the minimum age in their country or region, it’s a child account. Once they reach the minimum age, they’ll get a pop-up notification every time they log in to the EA app to let them know it's time to age up. When you upgrade your child’s account to a teen account, they can add their own email address and enable two-factor authentication.Here’s the full list of countries and the minimum age required to upgrade a child account to a teen account.

What can teen accounts do?

A teen EA Account has access to all the features of our games and services, except for any parental controls you set through their console or EA app. This includes:
  • playing online
  • chatting with friends
  • inviting friends to play
  • signing in to and using our online game companion apps
  • buying and downloading games from our online store.
However, unlike an adult EA Account, you can link a teen account to yours and set playtime limits and spend controls.
