Check out this list to see common errors, error codes, and workarounds that may fix them. 

1001-1004

We couldn’t process and save your payment because we couldn’t validate it. Try removing your credit card from your account, then try again.

2001-2006

We couldn’t process or save your payment because we couldn’t validate your billing or shipping address. Make sure you typed in your billing address exactly as it appears on your payment method, then try again. If you continue to have issues, contact your bank or payment provider.

4014

We couldn’t process your payment because there was a technical error on our end. Log out of your EA Account, then log back in and try making your purchase again. If that doesn’t work, try using a different payment method.

5000-5056, 5150-5153, 5602

We couldn’t process your payment because of a technical error on our end. If you get an error while trying to make a purchase on ea.com, try buying it in the EA app instead (or vice versa). If that doesn’t work, please try again later.

5155-5159

Something interrupted your purchase, but it was a temporary glitch. Try again—your purchase should go through.

5600

We’ve got your order already. You may have tried to buy something you already bought. Don’t worry, we won’t process this second order. You’ll only be charged once.

There was a locale or language issue with your order. Check your account details. Make sure the country and language in your account info match your current location and try again.

5800-5803

There was an error during checkout, but it should only be temporary. Try placing your order again. If you’re still having problems, log out of your EA Account, wait a few minutes, then log back in. Try making your purchase again.

9001

The purchase didn’t go through because our system couldn’t access your account information. Try placing your order again. If you’re still having problems, log out of your EA Account, wait a few minutes, then log back in. Try making your purchase again.

9002

We had trouble connecting to your payment provider. This issue may only be temporary. Try using a different payment method, or try again later with your original payment method.

9003-9004

There was an error somewhere between adding your payment and validating your purchase. Try placing your order again. If you keep getting the error, try closing your browser or the EA app and try your purchase again. If you still have trouble, try using another payment method.

9006, 10008-10014, 10048, 10050

We couldn’t complete your order with the payment method you’re using. Try using a different payment method, or try again with your original payment method later. You may need to get in touch with your bank or card issuer to see if something is blocking the purchase on their end.

9027

There’s not enough balance in your EA Wallet to make this purchase. You can add another EA Gift Card to your account and try again, or use a different payment method.

9028, 10049

We couldn’t complete your order because there was an error processing your transaction. Try clearing your cache, using a different payment method, or trying your purchase again later with your original payment method.

10001-10007, 10045-10047, 10051-10053

We couldn’t complete your order because of a technical issue with our payment collection service. Try making your purchase again. If you’re still having problems, check to see if we’ve posted any outage alerts. If we haven’t, try buying again later.

10015

We haven’t gotten your payment confirmation yet. It might take up to 24 hours to process. If you still don’t get an email confirmation after 24 hours, let us know.

10023 or NU2021

We're sorry – your order could not be processed at this time due to an issue with the billing address of your credit or debit card. Please check the billing address entered and make sure it matches what your card issuer or bank has on file.
