FIFA Playtime lets you control and customize your FIFA 23 experience. Learn how to set it up to see information about how you play FIFA.
FIFA Playtime lets you see how much time you put into FIFA 23, how many matches you play, and how you engage with FIFA Points and Packs in FIFA Ultimate Team™ (FUT).

If you have the Companion App or Web App open when you change your settings in-game, you may need to log out of the app before the change takes effect.
From the main menu:
- Enter FIFA 23.
- From the main menu, go to the Customise tile.
- Select the Playtime tile.

FIFA Playtime lets you see how much time you’ve spent in FIFA 23 and how many matches you play a week (excluding Simulated Career Mode matches).. Time Spent includes time spent in matches as well as the menus. Time is split across Online and Offline.
- Online Time—This refers to when you are connected to EA Servers and FIFA is active. When the session times out, the counter stops.
- Offline Time—This refers to time spent with the game open and not connected to EA Servers. This is saved to a local file and never uploaded. It is reset back to zero each week.
You can only see the time you’ve spent in the FIFA 23 Companion and Web App within the apps themselves. It will appear as a separate value to the time you’ve spent in-game on console or PC.
The total time and average time displayed in-game on console and PC doesn’t include time spent on the FIFA 23 Companion App and Web App, but console and PC time is factored into the total and average weekly time displayed in the Companion and Web App.
There are also certain conditions that change how Time Spent is calculated:
- Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in Suspend Mode: The timer stops instantly.
- Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in Constrain Mode: A disconnect will happen after several minutes of EA Server inactivity.
- PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in Rest Mode (inactive): The timer stops instantly.
- PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in Rest Mode (active): The timer runs for about a minute before pausing.
Matches Played Limit
FIFA Playtime allows you to set personal limits for Matches Played. To set a Matches Played personal limit, follow these steps:
- On the FIFA main menu, go to the Customise tile.
- Enter the Playtime tile.
- Select Match Limits.
- Select Edit Limit.
- Using the on-screen keypad, set how many games you want to play per week before you get a reminder message.
- You can also reset your limits back to the default (unlimited).
You can also edit your match limits in the FIFA Playtime menu. Match Limits are shared across all game modes.
Viewing and setting limits
- You can view any limits you have set for matches on the FIFA 23 Companion App and Web App, but Match Limits can only be set from the FIFA Playtime menu in-game on console and PC.
- You can set, or adjust, your limits for FUT Packs and FIFA Points on the FIFA 23 Companion App and Web App.
FIFA Points Purchase limits are only accessible when FIFA Playtime is accessed through FUT.
FIFA Playtime lets you track your FIFA Points Purchase history. This information is only available in the FUT Playtime menu and tracks FIFA Points purchased through the FUT Store. Purchases outside of the FUT Store will be added to your total FIFA Points information and limits the next time you login.
You can also view how many FIFA Points you’ve bought across FIFA 23 in the FIFA Playtime menu, and compare your current week to your average. You can also set a personal limit for FIFA Points Purchases in this menu by following these steps:
- On the FUT main menu, go to the Club tab.
- Select the Settings tile.
- Select and enter the Playtime tile.
- Select FIFA Points Purchase Limit.
- Select Edit Limit.
- Using the on-screen keypad, set a limit for how many FIFA Points you can buy per week.
- You can also reset your limits back to the default (unlimited).
FIFA Points purchased outside of FUT, like with retail cards or through first-party stores directly, will be updated towards your weekly FIFA Point count and all-time purchases count once you’ve redeemed the FIFA Points and logged out of FUT and then logged back in.
When you access FIFA Playtime through FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), it lets you see how many Packs you’ve opened in FUT.
- Only Packs opened through FIFA Points or FUT Coins are tracked here. Reward Packs are not.
- For example, if you opened five Squad Building Challenge Reward Packs and then went to the FUT Store to open three Packs with FUT Coins, your Playtime menu would show that three Packs have been opened.
- FUT Pack opening limits are only accessible when FIFA Playtime is accessed through FUT.
Pack Previews in FIFA Ultimate Team don’t count towards Playtime limits or the number of Packs you’ve opened. A Pack needs to be bought with FUT Coins or FIFA Points for it to count towards Playtime.
From the FUT Pack Limit menu, you can set a limit by following these steps:
- On the FUT main menu, go to the Club tab.
- Select the Settings tile.
- Select and enter the Playtime tile.
- Select Pack Purchase Limit.
- Select Edit Limit.
- Using the on-screen keypad, set a limit for how many FUT Packs you can get per week.
- You can also reset your limits back to the default (unlimited).
Once you’ve reached one of your limits, you’ll get a reminder message the next time saying you’ll be over your limit.
For example, if you’ve already played the number of matches you set your limit to, but try to play another match, you’ll see a reminder.
You can choose from three different actions when you get a reminder:
- OK: Choosing this will acknowledge the reminder and take you back to the previous menu you were in.
- Review Limits: Choosing this will take you to the FIFA Playtime menu so that you can adjust your limits.
- Ignore For 1 Hour: Choosing this will let you go past your limit for one hour.
