Overview
If you accidentally created a new EA Account but your games are on an older account, we’ll show you how to swap or merge your info into one EA Account.
How to change the email on a second account
If you accidentally created a second EA Account, but all your games are on your original EA Account, you can change the email address on your accounts to access your games.- 1Create a new email address to use as a temporary placeholder.
- Have a second email address already? You can use that one instead of creating a new one.
- 2Log in to the second EA Account.
- 3Go to the Account Information page and then Email address.
- 4Select Edit to update the email address to the temporary email address you created earlier.
- If you get an error saying that your email is invalid when you try to change it, it might already be used on another account. Try logging in to that account instead, or use a different email.
- 5Now log in to your original EA Account and change the email address to your preferred one.
We recommend using a secure email address you’ll always have access to, like Yahoo or Gmail, instead of one from school or work. Can’t log in to your account? If you don’t have access to your old email address anymore and can’t reset your password, follow our steps to get back into your account.
How to merge EA Accounts
All of the data (including saves and achievements) you have on your account is stored in our cloud. The cloud is linked to your EA Account. The cloud gives you access to your games and saves from other computers or consoles, as long as you’re signed in to your account. If you move a game from one account to another, you’ll be able to play the game, but the data still stays linked to the original EA Account. Merging accounts isn’t always possible. Even when it is, you can’t move your games or platform accounts to another account yourself. If you decide to merge your accounts, get in touch with us.Are there any transfer restrictions?
There are some risks and restrictions to transferring games or accounts.- To transfer games or accounts, you may need to unlink your EA Account. Make sure you understand the risks.
- Games can’t be transferred if one of the accounts has any type of ban on it. That includes bans for a platform account, game, or the whole account. Learn more about locks, bans, and suspensions.
- If a game is rated PEGI 16, 18, or ESRB M, we can’t move it to a child’s account. Learn more about child account restrictions.
- We can’t transfer a game from a child account to an adult account if a child is going to play it. If your child wants to play the game themselves, it will need to stay on their account. Learn more about child account restrictions.
