About the Military career in The Sims 4

The Military career comes with The Sims 4 Strangerville Game Pack and has two career branches: 
  • Officer
  • Covert Operator. 
To join this career, select Find a Job from the phone or computer and choose Military.A Sim, wearing a green military uniform with a hat, stands to attention in front of a wooden medal display case.

Military career tasks

To get a promotion in the Military career, your Sim needs to complete career tasks. These tasks change depending on your Sim’s rank in the Military career. To check what tasks your Sim needs to complete, open the Career Panel (the briefcase icon in the bottom right of the screen) in Live Mode.

How to Monitor Other Sims

    Buy the Listening Device table in Build Mode.

    Select the table and choose Purchase Bugs to open a menu of options. The listening device will appear in your Sim’s Inventory. 
  3. 3
    Click on another Sim and select Plant Bug.

How to Search the Stars

Select the telescope and choose Stargaze. 

How to Plan 10 Moves Ahead

Have your Sim play chess for 2 hours once they reach level 10 of the Covert Operator career path. 

How to Give Orders

    Your Sim can Give Orders to other Sims in the Military career under Friendly Interactions.
  2. 2
    To practice giving orders, buy the B64 Training Bot in Build Mode and select Practice Ordering Around.

    • Promotion Requirements: Reach Fitness Skill Level 2

  2. 2
    Private Fourth Class
    • Pay Per Day: §272
    • Daily Task: Work Out
    • Promotion Requirements: Reach Fitness Skill Level 3
    • Career Rewards and New Interactions: §581, Medal Display Case, Bravery Heart Medal
  3. 3
    Lacking Corporal
    • Pay Per Day: §432
    • Daily Task: Go Jogging
    • Promotion Requirements: Reach Fitness Skill Level 4
    • Career Rewards and New Interactions: §756, New Create a Sim Items, Medal of Questioning
  4. 4
    Sergeant Minor
    • Pay Per Day: §568
    • Daily Task: Spar With Others
    • Promotion Requirements: Reach Fitness Skill Level 5

  5. 5
    Warrant Officer
    • Pay Per Day: §768
    • Daily Task: Work Out
    • Promotion Requirements: Reach Fitness Skill Level 6

When your Sim is promoted to rank 5, you’ll choose between the Covert Operator or Officer career path.

Military career promotion cheats

Using this cheat promotes your Sim by one rank in the Military career. You can use it multiple times to reach the top of the career path.

    Press Control + Shift + C to open the cheat dialogue box. 
  2. 2
    Type testingcheats true and press Enter to turn on cheats. 
  3. 3
    Type careers.promote military into the cheat dialogue box and press Enter.
