To encourage teammates in FUT RUSH to keep fighting until the end of the match, EA SPORTS FC™ 26 has matchmaking delays in Rush for players who consistently leave matches early. Here’s how they work, and how to avoid them.

What is a matchmaking delay?

Matchmaking delays in EA SPORTS FC™ Ultimate Team™ Rush are designed to keep matches fair. If you consistently leave online games early or disconnect, you could face time-based penalties before you can play again.This delay starts at 15 minutes, and can increase up to an hour.

What happens if you get a matchmaking delay

  • You’ll see a message in the Ultimate Team™ main menu explaining why you were penalized.
  • A timer will block you from playing Rush. In the meantime, you can play other modes or exit the game. Once the time is up, you can enter matchmaking again normally.

How to avoid matchmaking delays

  • Finish your matches, even if you’re losing.
  • Check your connection to prevent unintentional disconnects.
  • Follow the Positive Play Charter to ensure fair play.
