How to download the EA app

Make sure your device meets the EA app’s minimum requirements before downloading it onto your PC or Mac.You might need to update your device’s operating system or upgrade to a new one to use the EA app. Check if you need to update your PC or Mac. 
If your device doesn’t use Microsoft Windows or macOS, you won’t be able to use the EA app on it.
The EA app for Mac is available to players on macOS Catalina or newer.

Download the EA app

    Choose between the EA app for PC or Mac.

    If you’re on Mac, drag and drop the EA app icon onto the Applications icon when prompted on-screen.

Minimum requirements for EA games

Every game has its own minimum requirements to play. To find the minimum requirements for a specific game:

    In the EA app Store, select a game to learn more about it in the Game Hub.

    Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the system requirements for the game.

How to install the EA app

    Once you’ve downloaded the EA app, open the installer, and follow the instructions.

    Launch the EA app.

    Login to the EA app using your EA Account details, or create an EA Account if you don’t have one yet.

Troubleshoot installation issues

Check your tech

Double-check that your PC or Mac meets the requirements needed to use the EA app.If you’re on PC, make sure you’re running the EA app as an administrator. You can also add the EA app and related files to your firewall and antivirus allow list to see if that fixes installation issues.

    Close the EA app.

    Right-click the EA app icon on your desktop (or in the EA app installation folder if not on your desktop) and select Run As Administrator.

    Then, add EADesktop.exe, EALauncher.exe, and EABackgroundService.exe to your antivirus and firewall allow lists. 

Check your connection

    Make sure you're connected to the internet, either hardwired with an ethernet cable or through Wi-Fi.

    Try restarting your router: switch it off and unplug it for fifteen seconds, then plug it back in and power it up.

    Once you're reconnected to the internet, download and install the EA app again.

Restart or reset your download

If you see an error while you install the EA app, you’ll need to restart the installation. Before you start the installation again, make sure to delete any files or folders that were downloaded and installed before the error.

    Find your EA app installation folder.
    • On PC: By default, the EA app installation folder is at C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop.
    • On Mac: Open Finder and press command + shift + G simultaneously. Then, search /Library and go to Application Support > Electronic Arts > EA app.

    Delete the EA app.
    • On PC: Right-click the second folder (C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop) and click Delete, then Yes.
    • On Mac: Right-click the EA app folder and select Move to Bin.

    Open the installer and follow the instructions.

How to update the EA app

The EA app automatically updates itself to the latest version. 
  • When you log in, it’ll automatically update to the newest version.
  • If the app is running when a new update launches, it won’t update automatically. 
  • Exit the app and restart it to begin the update.
You can change the auto-update setting in the EA app’s settings. If your app isn’t updating, check if auto-updates have been disabled.
