Overview
Learn how to change settings like your mouse sensitivity, Field of View, EQ, and frames-per-second to improve performance and get better aim.
How to increase frames-per-second and performance
If you want to maximize your performance or frames-per-second (FPS), run Apex Legends on the lowest graphics settings possible. Playing the game on lower graphic settings gives your game more streaming budget to react, meaning you can get faster response times in matches. If you’re unsure where to start, try lowering a few options at a time to see how it impacts FPS. If you don’t see a setting listed here, it’s because it won’t impact your game performance. You can show your FPS in-game while you play. Find out how to display and cap your FPS.

How to find the best settings for a mouse or controller
The best settings for your controller or mouse and keyboard depend on your personal preferences. There are no wrong settings to play with, so keep experimenting to discover how new settings work when you play—find what feels most comfortable for you. Try adjusting the sensitivity setting, which you’ll find in Controller Settings or the Mouse/Keyboard tab. Low sensitivity gives you more control, while high sensitivity lets you aim more quickly.Mouse sensitivity settings
If you want to start playing with a higher sensitivity, try increasing it slowly to get more comfortable with the speed. We recommend these settings as a starting point.- Mouse Sensitivity: 3.0–5.0, or personal preference.
- ADS Mouse Sensitivity Multiplier: 1.0.
- Mouse Acceleration: Off.
- Mouse Invert: personal preference.
- Lighting Effects: personal preference.
How to find the best Field of View (FOV)
Field of View (FOV) is how far wide around yourself you can see on the screen. When your FOV is higher, you can see more around you. When you start playing Apex Legends, your FOV will be set at 70.
