Overview
Learn how to switch on cross-play in Need for Speed Heat to take on new rivals in Multiplayer mode.
How to turn Cross-Play on or off
Cross-play lets you compete with friends and other players on different platforms. If you opt-in, you’ll race against players across any console or PC. If you opt-out, you'll only race against players on the same system as you. When you first start Need for Speed Heat, you’ll be asked to enable cross-play. Choose Enable to turn it on or Disable to turn it off.You can change your cross-play settings later by following these steps:
- 1If you’re in a Party, leave it first.
- 2Go to Lobby.
- 3Select Settings, then Privacy.
- 4Toggle cross-play to Enabled or Disabled.
Cross-play limitations
Check the icon beside your friend's name (on the Friends list) to see which platform they're using. If they're on a different platform, you can’t:- join the same Crew (all players in a Crew must play on the same system)
- inspect their Profile or their Crew
- share Community wraps with them
- share Screenshots with them
- see their pre-order wraps (if they have them equipped) in All Drive.
How to search and add friends
Use the Find Players option to search for players. You can look up friends using their:- EA ID if they're on a PC
- PlayStation™ Network Online ID if they're on PlayStation®
- Xbox gamertag if they're on Xbox.
Once you find them, add them to your EA Friends list to see when they're online. Your EA Friends list can hold up to 100 people.
