Overview
Learn how to play with friends and carry over your game progress between consoles in Super Mega Baseball 4 (SMB4).
How does cross-play work in Super Mega Baseball 4?
Cross-play lets you compete against other players across multiple platforms, including PlayStation® 4, PlayStation® 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch™, the EA app, and Steam. It’s available in these specific game modes:- Pennant Race and Online Leagues: Players on different platforms can compete against each other.
- Other online multiplayer modes (Exhibition, Franchise, Season, and Elimination): Cross-play is limited to cross-generation matchmaking within the same console family. For example, PlayStation® 4 players can play with PlayStation® 5 players, and Xbox One players can play with Xbox Series X|S players. Cross-platform play between different console families (e.g. PlayStation® vs. Xbox) is not supported.
How to turn cross-play on
- 1In the main menu, open Options.
- 2Go to the Online tab.
- 3Under Cross-Platform, toggle to Enabled.
- To turn it off, toggle to Disabled.
How does cross-progression work in Super Mega Baseball 4?
Cross-progression is available in certain modes and varies between systems.- Pennant Race and Online Leagues: Your progression in these modes is stored on EA’s servers, allowing you to carry it over between console generations within the same family (e.g. PlayStation® 4 to PlayStation® 5).
- Other modes (Franchise, Season, etc.):
- Xbox - save data is shared between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, letting you switch between generations using the same save file.
- PlayStation® - you can import data from PlayStation® 4 to PlayStation® 5, but this is a one-way transfer, and you can’t move the save back to PlayStation® 4 after the initial import.
Cross-play availability can be affected by factors such as maintenance, server updates, or unexpected downtime. While cross-progression is supported in specific modes, it may not be available universally across all game modes and platforms.
