About the Painter career in The Sims 4

The Painter career comes with The Sims 4 Base Game and has two career branches:
  • Master of the Real 
  • Patron of the Arts.
To join this career, select Find a Job from the phone or computer and choose Painter. A Sim wearing a paint-splattered top, stands in front of an easel painting, beside a table covered in painting supplies.

Painter career tasks

To get a promotion in the Painter career, your Sim needs to complete career tasks. These tasks change depending on your Sim’s rank in the Painter career.To check what tasks your Sim needs to complete, open the Career Panel (the briefcase icon in the bottom right of the screen) in Live Mode.

    Art Book Collator

    • Daily Task: Paint Paintings
    • Promotion Requirements: Inspired Mood, Reach Painting Skill Level 2
    • Career Rewards and New Interactions: §422, Picture Perfect Art Lighting, Research Art Reference on Computer ability

    Hungry Artist
    • Pay Per Day: §208
    • Daily Task: Paint Paintings
    • Promotion Requirements: Inspired Mood, Reach Painting Skill Level 4

    Watercolor Dabbler

    Imaginative Imaginist
    • Pay Per Day: §308

    • Promotion Requirements: Inspired Mood, Reach Painting Skill Level 7
    • Career Rewards and New Interactions: §845, Vase of Sunflowers, New Create a Sim Items
When your Sim is promoted to rank 6, you’ll choose between the Patron of the Arts or Master of the Real career path.

Painter career promotion cheats

Using this cheat promotes your Sim by one rank in the Painter career. You can use it multiple times to reach the top of the career path.

    Press Control + Shift + C to open the cheat dialogue box.

    Type testingcheats true and press Enter to turn on cheats. 
  3. 3
    Type careers.promote painter into the cheat dialogue box and press Enter.
