Help your Sim become a star with the Entertainer career. Learn how to write songs, tell jokes, and level up fast.

About the Entertainer career in The Sims 4

The Entertainer career comes with The Sims 4 Base Game and has two career branches:
  • Musician 
  • Comedian. 
To join this career, select Find a Job from the phone or computer and choose Entertainer.A Sim, with blonde hair and waring a floor-length patterned dress, sings while into a gold microphone.

Career tasks

Complete the career tasks to get a promotion in the Entertainer career. These tasks change depending on which rank of the career your Sim is at. To check what tasks your Sim needs to complete, open the Career Panel (the briefcase icon in the bottom right of the screen) in Live Mode.

How to Write Jokes

Using the computer, select More Choices > Write Jokes. 

How to Practice Music

    In the Hobbies and Skills section of Build Mode, buy an instrument for your Sim.

    Select your chosen instrument and choose Practice. 

How to Perform Comedy Routines

Your Sim needs to reach Comedy Skill Level 3 before they can Perform Routines. Practice the Comedy skill by telling jokes to other Sims or using the microphone (these can be bought in Build Mode or found on certain lots).

    Using the computer, select More Choices > Comedy > Compose Short Routine. As your Sim’s Comedy skill increases, they’ll have more routines to choose from like Medium and Long Routines.

    Using a microphone, select Perform Routine.

    C-Lister
    • Pay Per Day: §240
    • Daily Task: Write Jokes or Practice Music
    • Promotion Requirements: Playful Mood, Reach Comedy Skill Level 2

    Opening Act
    • Pay Per Day: §270
    • Daily Task: Write Jokes or Practice Music
    • Promotion Requirements: Playful Mood, Reach Comedy Skill Level 2, Reach Guitar Skill Level 3 or Reach Violin Skill Level 3
    • Career Rewards and New Interactions: §595, Rock of Ages Retro Stereo
When your Sim is promoted to rank 4, you’ll choose between the Comedian or Musician career path.

Entertainer career promotion cheats

Using this cheat promotes your Sim by one rank in the Entertainer career. You can use it multiple times to reach the top of the career path.

    Press Control + Shift + C to open the cheat dialogue box.

    Type testingcheats true and press Enter to turn on cheats. 
  3. 3
    Type careers.promote entertainer into the cheat dialogue box and press Enter.
