Your own connection can cause high ping and packet loss in Apex Legends. Issues can be caused by things like:
Try the steps in this article to troubleshoot your connection.
Ping, or latency, is the measurement of how long it takes for game data to be sent from your platform to the data centers and back.
Packet loss is the measurement of the number, or percentage, of packets that fail to successfully make the round trip to the data centers and back.
High ping and packet loss can create lag and negatively affect your gameplay. For example, if your ping and packet loss are high, you might be aiming at someone who’s already moved out of view.
Ping is generally between 50 and 150 milliseconds (ms). Ping under 100ms will keep your game running well, with ping under 50ms being particularly good.
If your ping is over 100ms, you may start to experience lag.
You can check your ping and packet loss in-game by turning on Performance Display.
