If you’re having problems downloading or updating your games, clearing your device’s cache can help.

Clearing your cache can’t fix problems like game outages or servers going down. If clearing your cache doesn’t solve your issue, try the steps at the bottom of this page.

Clearing your cache can help fix common issues like:

  • the EA app being stuck in offline mode or not updating itself
  • games not downloading
  • game downloads or updates being stuck on a certain percentage or on “Waiting for download”
  • games that seem to be “missing” from your EA app Library.

Follow these steps to clear your device’s cache.

The EA app

  1. Go to the EA app’s menu.
    • On Windows, select the three dashes in the far-left corner of the EA app.
    • On macOS, click Help at the top of the screen, then choose App Recovery.
  2. Scroll to Help.
  3. Click App recovery.
  4. Select Clear cache.

From Windows 10 and 11

If you can’t open the EA app, you can also follow these steps to clear your cache.

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Open All Apps.
  3. Find the EA folder and click the downward arrow to expand.
  4. Select App Recovery.
  5. A confirmation window will pop up.
  6. Click Clear Cache.

Origin - Mac

If you’re on a Mac, you can quickly clear your cache by using the Reset Origin tool.
