If you are not able to load your saved Sims 3 game or you see unusual behavior when trying to play the game, please disable the custom content feature of the game and see if you are then able to successfully play the game.

To disable custom content, please follow these steps:

1. Exit the game and go back to the desktop
2. Launch The Sims 3 from the normal location on your computer to display the launcher window
3. In the launcher window, select "Installed Content" from the button list on the left
4. After clicking the "Installed Content" button, please check the box next to "Run without custom content"

5. After checking the box, a message box will appear letting you know custom items will be replaced with generic items if the game is saved in this mode

6. Click "Ok" to close the message box and continue

Once you have completed these steps, please launch the game and see if you continue to experience the issue.

If the issue does not occur, the custom content for your game may need to be uninstalled for the game to function correctly.

To remove content from the game, check the box next to the item in the "Installed Content" section and click the Uninstall button at the bottom of the page.
