Mods are a big part of The Sims community, so here’s how to download them safely.

What are Mods?

Mods, also known as custom content, are additions you can download for your game that were created by others in The Sims community, not by Maxis.

Here’s a breakdown of the different types of Mods:

Mods: A blanket term referring to any player-made content for the game. This includes both Custom Content and Game Mods.

Custom Content (CC): This is the addition of player-made clothing or objects to the game. Examples include; hair, clothing, or furniture.

Game Mods: These add features or change the functionalities of the game. They may include script code, but not always. Examples include: a new Trait, new console cheats, objects with new functionality, new UI functionality, etc.

When downloading Mods for The Sims 4, be careful to only download from a trusted source or creator.

Maxis and EA don’t pre-screen, endorse, or support specific Mods or Custom Content. Use Mods and Custom Content with caution and understand there may be risks.
