STAR WARS: Galaxy of Heroes game modes
These are the first types of battles you’ll unlock. Create a Light Side or Dark Side squad and battle in iconic STAR WARS locations.You’ll need to beat set teams to progress. Light Side battles open first and Dark Side battles will open later. Normal Battles and Hard Battles Once you beat the normal mode of a battle (known as Normal Battles), you can play a hard mode version (known as Hard Battles). Hard Battles cost twice as much Energy as Normal Battles but offer better rewards. Hard Battles are the main way to earn Shards.
Cantina Battles are set challenges like Light or Dark Side Battles. These battles use Cantina Energy and don’t have a hard mode.
These battles are like Light and Dark Side Battles, but with ships. Once you beat the normal mode of a battle (known as Normal Battles), you can play a hard mode version (known as Hard Battles).
Challenges are themed battles that rotate on different days. Daily Challenges and Daily Ship Challenges give specific rewards for completing them, like Training Droids or Ability Mats.
Squad Arena is a mode that lets you create a Squad and battle against other Squads. When you win, you’ll climb the leaderboards. The higher your Rank, the better the rewards you’ll earn.
Conquest is a game mode that unlocks at level 85 and lets you earn rewards by battling enemies as you progress through Sectors of the Galaxy. Conquests last for two weeks and run once per month.You’ll earn Conquest Keycards and Conquest Currency as you win battles and complete feats. Any items you buy from the Conquest Store during previous Conquests won’t transfer to new Conquests. Each Conquest has an Easy, Normal, and Hard mode. You have to complete each Sector in Normal mode and meet Galactic Power requirements before you can play Hard mode. Once you choose a difficulty level, you can’t change it.
This mode is similar to Squad Arena, but damage carries over to the next battle. If you’re defeated, you won’t be able to play until the war resets, which happens every 24 hours. When you reach level 85, you can use Multi-Sim.
- These are player-versus-player competitive events where players are matched to battle against each other.
- The aim of GAC is to outscore your opponent by defeating them while efficiently managing your resources.
- To take part in GAC, you need to be Level 85 or higher and join before round 1 of the first event starts.
- There are four events per season, and each event has three rounds. You have to manually join each round to participate.
- In round one of an event, you’re matched with other players based on your Galactic Power. In rounds two and three, you’re matched with other players with similar win/loss records.
- You’ll get rewards for every squad you beat. Other rewards are based on rounds won and lost and where you rank in an event.
- Join and preview: This is the only time you can join an event. You can’t join after it’s started.
- Setup: Choose your defensive squads on your side of the map. Units placed in defensive squads aren’t available for use in the attack phase.
- Attack: choose squads from your available (undeployed) units and attack your opponent’s defenses.
- Review: check your results and see where you can improve strategies next time.
These are unique challenges that allow you to earn Shards for a specific character or ship. You can often only use certain units or units with a certain star level.

In this mode, you’ll battle AI Squads over ten tiers of difficulty. You’ll have unlimited battle attempts and can complete feats to earn keycards that upgrade your rewards at the end of the event.
How to change reward times in STAR WARS: Galaxy of Heroes
Here’s how to change the times you get reward payouts for specific modes like Daily Activities, Squad Arenas, and Fleet Arenas.- 1Launch STAR WARS: Galaxy of Heroes.
- 2Select the gear icon in the top left of the Cantina screen to open the Settings menu.
- 3Choose Time Settings. On the New Time row, select the Daily Activities Reset dropdown menu.
- 4On the Select New Time screen, choose a new time and select Confirm. On the next screen, select Confirm again.
- 5You’ll get a Change Time Settings pop-up notification. Choose Confirm and select Restart.
- The payout times for all rewards are connected. When you change your Daily Activities Reset time, the times for Squad Arena Rewards and Fleet Arena Rewards will also change.
- You can change your reward payout times twice a year. Rather than a calendar year (January to December), the year starts when you make your first change. The next year starts 12 months after that. Unused time changes don’t carry over to the next year.
- You have to wait 48 hours after a time change to make another one.
- If you travel to a location outside of your usual time zone, the in-game time zone won’t change automatically. If you want your payout times to match the new time zone, you’ll need to manually change them using the steps above.
- Make sure to finish any Daily Activities before changing your payout times. If a time change you make moves your game into a new day, you may lose access to unfinished daily missions and activities.
- If you change reward payout times, there may be a cooldown period for some stores and activities.
- If you make changes to your payout times around Daylight Savings Time, remember that the clocks will move forward or back one hour.
