What is the Master’s Datacron?

The Master’s Datacron is an item that you can buy from the Cartel Market (or from another player through the GTN) that you can use to boost your character to level 80.

To get you started, it also provides a set of level 80 gear tailored to your character’s chosen Discipline.

Using the Master’s Datacron does not block you from playing through any storylines in the game. You can use it and pick up right where you left off with your character’s story.

How does it work?

1. Log in on the character you want to boost to level 80.
2. Purchase The Master’s Datacron from the Cartel Market and claim it into your inventory.
   • If you purchased the item through the Galactic Trade Network (GTN) on another character, use your Legacy bank or in-game mail to pass it on to the character you want to use it on.
3. Click on the item in your inventory, and confirm you want to use it.
   • Wait for the casting animation to finish, and click again to confirm this is the character you want to boost to level 80.
   • Do not confirm if you’re using it on a different character than you meant to, this is your last chance to cancel, and we can’t reverse this choice for you.
4. If you confirm you want to boost this character, you’ll be transported to their Personal Starship (also granted as part of the process, though you can still follow the storyline to earn it on your character).
   • You’ll see a new mission in your Mission Log (press L to open) called The Master’s Datacron.
5. When that mission completes, if you haven’t already chosen a Discipline on this character, you’ll need to press K to open your Discipline window and choose one.
   • This determines the gear you’ll get in the next step.
6. Open your inventory and look for the Eternal Commander’s Equipment box.
7. Right-click on the box to collect your new gear, tailored for your chosen Discipline.
   • Equip your new gear, and you’re good to go!

What’s the difference between the Master’s Datacron and the Commander token?

• The Commander token is used to create a new character at level 80 to play through Knights of the Fallen Empire and Knights of the Eternal Throne.
• These characters do not have access to Class storylines, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, Shadow of Revan, or the Ziost storyline.
• The Master’s Datacron can only be used on existing characters, and allows you to continue their class storylines or jump right in to exploring the galaxy.
