Find out how to report players in Apex Legends and what you can do if someone is ruining your match.

Report a player in Apex Legends

While in a match, bring up the in-game menu (Tab on PC, Options on Playstation®, Menu on Xbox, + button on Nintendo Switch™).

Open the Squad tab.

Select the warning symbol (“!” inside a triangle) under the player you want to report.

Choose which category you’d like to report:
Cheating
Gameplay disruption
Inappropriate Chat/Content.

Choose the subcategory from the drop-down menu.

Select Report.

You can also report a player while spectating them after you've fallen in a match.

When to report a player in Apex Legends

Anyone who plays an EA game has to play by our rules. Reporting players who break the rules helps us create a positive player community.You can help us by reporting players who:

cheat
team up with other players who cheat
abuse game features, bugs, or glitches in a way they’re not meant to be used
harass other players
hack accounts
buy accounts.

If you’re struggling with a toxic player in a match, here are some things you can do to stop them from disrupting your game. Make sure you also report anyone who’s breaking the rules.

How to mute teammates in Apex Legends

If you’re in a match and someone is harassing you, you can mute them.

While in a match, bring up the in-game menu (Tab on PC, Options on Playstation®, Menu on Xbox, + button on Nintendo Switch™).

Open the Squad tab.

Select the Mute Voice (speakerphone icon) under the player you want to mute.

You won’t be able to hear this player unless you unmute them.

How to turn off voice chat in Apex Legends

If you want voice chat to automatically be turned off whenever you join a match:

Go to the Settings menu.

Under Gameplay, scroll down to Accessibility.

Select On next to Disable Voice Chat.

How to create a private match in Apex Legends

If you want to play exclusively with people you know, you can create or join invite-only matches. You need 30 players in your lobby to start a Battle Royale private match, or 6 players to start an Arenas match.

Start in the Lobby. Make sure you’re the only player there.

Select the game mode box on the left.

From the game mode menu, select Private Match at the top.

To create a match, select Create Match.
If there’s a match you want to join, enter the code and then select Join Match.

Select Reveal in the top-right corner to see your Join Code. Share the code with players you want in your private match.

Select Settings to adjust your match settings and choose your game mode.
