What’s cross-play?
Cross-play lets you compete with friends and other players across different platforms in specific online multiplayer modes.For example, if you’re playing on a PlayStation®5, turning on cross-play lets you compete with friends playing on Xbox Series X|S.How to turn on cross-play in NHL®
Cross-play should be turned on by default when you launch NHL for the first time. Here’s how to check or change your cross-play setting.- 1Open the World of Chel Hub and go to Settings.
- 2Select Cross-play.
- 3Select Enable cross-play.
- Turn cross-play off by selecting Disable cross-play.
Keeping cross-play turned on can help reduce matchmaking wait times and make it easier to find opponents to face on the ice.
How to play NHL® with friends on other platforms
Want to team up across platforms? Here’s how.- Open the EA Connect menu on the bottom-right side of the main menu screen in NHL.
- Search for your friend using their EA ID, Xbox Live gamertag, or PlayStation™Network Online ID (PSN ID).
- Select Add friend. When they accept your friend request, you can play with them in any NHL mode that supports cross-play.
