What is a SW:TOR Security Key?
Your SW:TOR Security Key adds an extra layer of security to your game account. When you have a Security Key attached to your account, you'll need to use a code from an authenticator app each time you log in to the game. This code is a time-sensitive, randomly generated number that acts as an additional password to keep your accounts safe. Google Authenticator is the recommended verification option, as it’s the most up-to-date Security Key available for SW:TOR. Once you’ve set up a SW:TOR Security Key, use Google Authenticator to generate the code needed when you sign into SW:TOR.The SW:TOR Security Key App and the SW:TOR Physical Security Key are no longer supported as verification methods. If you currently use either of these as a SW:TOR Security Key, we recommend switching to Google Authenticator.

Troubleshooting Security Key
If you’re running into issues while trying to sign in using your Security Key, try the following:- If you’re using verification methods that are no longer supported (such as the SW:TOR Security Key App or the SW:TOR Physical Security Key), download and use Google Authenticator instead.
- When signing in, check that you’re using the email account that’s linked to SW:TOR and your Security Key.
- Make sure you enter the code from your Security Key app within the expiration time. If you take longer than the allotted time, you may need to try again. Google Authenticator allows you 30 seconds to enter each generated code.
- If you’ve checked all the above and are still having issues, remove your key from your account and reattach it.
