About the Engineer career in The Sims 4

The Engineer career comes with The Sims 4 Discover University Expansion Pack and has two career branches:

Computer Engineer
Mechanical Engineer.

To join this career, select Find a Job from the phone or computer and choose Engineer.

Engineer career tasks

Help your Sim rise through the ranks by completing their daily Engineering career tasks. These tasks change depending on which rank of the career your Sim is at. To check what tasks your Sim needs to complete, open the Career Panel (the briefcase icon in the bottom right of the screen) in Live Mode.

How to Construct Computer Chip

Your Sim must have a Robotics Skill level of 2 to construct a Computer Chip. Tinker with Dr F.’s Official Robotics Workstation or read a Robotics skill book to level up.

Using the Robotics Workstation, select Craft Materials > Computer Chip.

How to Construct Mechanism

Your Sim must have a Robotics Skill level of 2 to construct Mechanisms. Tinker with Dr F.’s Official Robotics Workstation or read books about Robotics to increase their skill level.

Using the Robotics Workstation, select Craft Materials > Mechanism.

Type testingcheats true and press Enter to turn on cheats.

Click on Dr F.’s Official Robotics Workstation while also holding down the Shift button.

Choose Spawn Crafting Supplies. You’ll find Computer Chips and Mechanisms in your Sims’ Inventory.
