Check here if you’re having issues downloading, installing, or playing A Way Out.

Find your manual and check out the gameplay controls you need:

Done playing for the day? A Way Out will automatically save your game progress. When you and your friend are ready to play again, jump right back in where you left off.

If you get disconnected while you’re playing with a friend online, the game will put you back in right around where you were last. You might have to play a small amount over again, but you won’t have to start from the beginning.

A Way Out runs off of peer-to-peer connections only. That means if you or your friend get disconnected while playing, one of your connections isn’t the strongest.

Check out our tips on how to improve your connection, then send them to your friend, too.

PC

First, make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements to play A Way Out. Also double-check that you have enough space on your hard drive to install the game.

Minimum requirements:

  • O/S: Windows 7 64-bit, 8.1 64-bit or Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel core i3-2100T @ 2.5GHz / AMD FX 6100, or better
  • RAM 8Gb
  • GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650Ti 2GB, AMD Radeon HD 7750 2GB
  • DirectX 11
  • HDD: 25Gb
  • At least one Xbox-compatible / Playstation-compatible controller, two recommended
  • Internet Connection - 256Kbps or faster

If Origin didn’t automatically download the game when you bought it, try starting your download manually:

  1. Log in to the Origin client.
  2. Click My Game Library and then on your A Way Out game tile.
    1. If you can't find the game tile and are sure you own it, click Filter at the top-right and then Clear all filters.
  3. Click Download.
    1. Origin will detect any game updates and add them to your download queue for you.
    2. If your download says it’s paused, click Resume Download.
  4. Click Next, then agree to the End User License Agreements (EULAs) and click Next again.
  5. After the game downloads and installs, you’ll see a green checkmark and Completed on your game tile.
  6. Click it and choose Play.

Getting a black screen

Do you get a black screen when you launch the game? Make sure your drivers are up to date.

PlayStation 4

Digital copies of A Way Out should install as soon as the download is done.

If the game doesn’t automatically install, try a manual install:

  1. Open your Notifications from the XMB, or main PlayStation menu.
  2. Choose Downloads and find your A Way Out download file.
  3. Press the Options button and select Install.

Get help on PlayStation.com for problems with downloading or launching your game.

Xbox One

Digital copies of A Way Out should install as soon as the download is done.

If the game doesn’t automatically install, try a manual install:

  1. Go to your Download History from the main Xbox menu.
  2. Choose the A Way Out file, then press the menu button.
  3. Select Install.
