Learn how to install or uninstall EA Javelin Anticheat, and how to fix error codes you may see when using the installer.
What is EA Javelin Anticheat Install Uninstall Error codes

EA Javelin Anticheat is a PC anticheat solution designed to ensure fair play in our games and help prevent cheating, whilst also focusing on privacy and security.

It’s a kernel-mode anticheat and anti-tamper solution, which you can learn more about in this EA Javelin Anticheat deep dive.

Which games use EA Javelin Anticheat?

Every game that uses EA Javelin Anticheat installs its own copy of the software. You can check whether your game uses EA Javelin Anticheat in the EA app.

  1. Go to the EA app.
  2. Choose your game.
  3. Select Manage, then View Properties.
  4. Select Browse. If your game uses EA Anticheat, EA Anticheat files will be visible in this folder.

For Windows 10, EA Javelin Anticheat requires the Windows 10 20H1 update (version number 10.0.19041) or newer. If you're already running the latest update, you don’t have to do anything else. To check for updates, follow the steps on the official Microsoft website.

If you need to troubleshoot an issue or you previously uninstalled EA Javelin Anticheat, follow these steps.

  1. Download the EA Javelin Anticheat installer.
    • The link will automatically download the installer onto your browser.
  2. Select the game you want to add EA Javelin Anticheat to.
  3. Select Install.

Any game that uses EA anticheat will try to install the tool when you install the game, if EA Javelin Anticheat isn’t already enabled.

If you uninstall EA anticheat, any game that uses EA anticheat protection won’t be playable until you reinstall it.

We don’t recommend uninstalling EA Javelin Anticheat unless you need to install from a clean state. To do that, follow these steps.

  1. Open the Windows Explorer and search for C:\Program Files\EA\AC
  2. Select on EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe to launch the installer.
    • If you want to uninstall it for one game, choose the game you want to uninstall EA Javelin Anticheat from and click Uninstall.
    • If you want to uninstall it for all EA games, choose Uninstall All. This will remove all EA Anticheat files from your computer, minus the installer.

EA Javelin Anticheat protection will also be uninstalled from your PC if you uninstall all EA games that use it.

Failure during update process

There are two ways to fix this error:

  • Select Close in the EA Javelin Anticheat pop-up message and restart the game.
  • Download the installer again, uninstall the game you’re playing in the installer, and then install it again for the game manually.

Please start the game from the EA app

You’ll get this error if you’re trying to launch your game directly from the Windows File Explorer.

You need to launch the game from the EA app. Even if you’re using Steam or the Epic Games Store, they’ll still launch from the EA app.

Your Windows version is not supported

Make sure you've updated your Windows to the latest available update. To check for updates, follow the steps on Microsoft.

EA Javelin Anticheat Service has encountered an error. Please restart the game. <Path of Service> <Error #>

This happens when EA Javelin Anticheat can't find the installation folder or can’t start the game. There are two ways to fix this.

  • Relaunch the EA app (even if you got the game on Steam or the Epic Games Store) as an admin by right-clicking on it and choosing Run As Administrator. Then, relaunch the game from the EA app directly.
  • Reinstall EA Javelin Anticheat.

This software cannot be used at the same time as the game <Software name>

EA Javelin Anticheat will shut down the game and our services if you use cheat tools, debuggers, or other conflicting software. Turning off or uninstalling conflicting software can help you get back in the game.

EA Javelin Anticheat Service encountered an invalid system configuration/a system error. Please run the EA Javelin Anticheat Service installer.

This can happen if you’ve altered or changed any game files. Reinstall EA anticheat to fix it.

EA Javelin Anticheat has detected an unacceptable configuration. Please ensure no cheat-related or tampering software is active and restart the game.

EA Javelin Anticheat will shut down the game and our services if you use cheat tools. Turning off or uninstalling conflicting software can help you get back in the game.

The application encountered an unrecoverable error.

This can happen when expired or unsigned drivers are loading while trying to launch the game.

Try restarting your PC and relaunching the game. If that doesn't fix the problem, follow these steps on Microsoft’s website to enable Secure Boot on your computer.

After you’ve done that, try reloading the game again and it should fix the issue.
