Visual On-Ice Training
Control schemes
For a full description of all controls in the game, check out the manual for your version of the game:
NHL 16 provides players with a new training mode called visual On-Ice training. This training provides on-screen button prompts for basic moves, shows you shooting targets, passing lanes, open teammates, and more. Beginners can learn the controls and the basics of hockey, while veterans can perfect their technique on the ice.
NOTE: Control hints and On-Ice visualizations stay on when you play the game on Easy difficulty.
NHL 16 gives you 3 different control schemes to choose from. You can switch schemes at any time by going to the main menu, going to customize, and then settings.
Hybrid Controls
This is one of the simplest control schemes that uses simple button presses to command the action on the ice. It’s great for beginners.
