Choose your skate. controller preset

There are three controller presets you can choose from: Streamlined, Classic, or Experienced. Here’s what you need to know about each type.
After you’ve chosen your preset, you can make individual edits to customize your settings. Go to Gameplay > Controls to make changes.
Streamlined is the best option for beginners, because it simplifies the input you need to perform tricks, stop, and push.If you’re new to the game, we recommend starting with Streamlined to get used to Skate’s controls.

Assists settings

In the Assists menu, you can edit how much assistance is applied to certain movements in-game. When your assistance setting is higher, it’s easier to land specific movements, but your gameplay might feel less realistic. If you want your gameplay to feel realistic and challenging, we recommend turning your assist settings low or off. This will give you more control. You can also edit settings like your Allowed Fall Height and Friendlier Wipeout Thresholds to change how your skater interacts with their environment. When these settings are turned lower or off, your skater is more likely to fall over or wipe out.You can customize these settings specifically for your gameplay to give you support for certain movements or tricks. Come back to this menu at any time to tweak your set-up.

Trick Toggles

The Trick Toggles menu lets you choose which tricks are performable in the game and lets you customize certain trick movements. We recommend keeping all tricks turned on and adjusting any tricks to your liking.If you’re a beginner, here’s an overview of the main types of skateboard trick movements.
Flip tricksA trick where your board flips in the air.
SlappiesA grind or slide performed by driving your board directly into an object like a curb.
FirecrackersRiding down stairs while keeping your front wheels lifted.
WalliesRiding your board directly into an obstacle like a wall to deflect your board off it.
OlliesA trick where the rider and board jump into the air without the skater using their hands.
No complyA trick where the skater takes their front foot off the board and pops their board with their back foot.
SpinsRotating your skateboard.
Roll-insRiding your board over a hard edge, like into a bowl.

How to customize Camera settings

Your Camera settings change how your gameplay looks. You can adjust these settings to suit you best.
  • Try customizing settings like Horizontal and Vertical Follow Strength to adjust how closely the camera tracks your skater.
  • Adjust your Field of View to decide how much you want to see around you.
    • If Maintain Camera Distance is turned on, the camera will stay at the same distance from your skater regardless of your field of view settings.
  • Change settings like your On-board Camera Offset and Camera Framing to change how your skater is centred and framed on-screen.

Advanced Camera settings

Advanced Camera settings give you more control over:
  • how you use the camera in-game, like manually switching camera sides or controlling the camera’s height
  • camera features, like camera shake and high speed features
  • automatic camera changes for in-game movements.

How to customize Graphics and Audio settings

Graphics settings change how your game looks. For the best looking experience, set your Global Graphics Quality to UltraIf you’re experiencing lag, you can change your Global Graphics Quality to lower or a Custom setting. This lets you lower certain graphics settings to make it easier for your PC or console to process the game. We recommend changing settings like Lighting Quality, Shadow Quality, and Ambient Occlusion Quality to Low if your PC is having trouble.

Audio settings

Change the volume of sound effects, music, and voice over in the Audio menu. You can also turn off Gameplay Vee Comments here.

Where are replays saved on PC?

After you’ve exported your replays, you can find them in your PC’s Users folder. Your screenshots and videos should be under your username > AppData > Local > Skate > data.If you can’t find your replays under your username, make sure Hidden items are visible. You can do this by selecting View > Show > Hidden items.
