Overview
The Media Production skill in The Sims 4 Get Famous lets your Sims create music and videos that can earn Simoleons and boost their Fame. All Sims, from Children to Elders, can build this skill. This guide covers everything from how to level up, all level unlocks, and even the cheats to max it out instantly.
About the Media Production skill
- The Media Production skill comes with The Sims 4 Get Famous Expansion Pack, and is a 5 level skill. Use this skill to produce videos or music.
- Elder, Adult, Young Adult, Teen, and Child Sims can all build this skill.
- Child Sims can build this skill using the Mix Master Music Station or the Up and Adam Streaming Drone. They’ll also build the Creativity skill at the same time.

Releasing music and videos will impact your Sim’s fame level and earn them some Simoleons.
How to build the Media Production skill
There are multiple ways for your Sim to build the Media Production skill. Some interactions are only unlocked when your Sim reaches a certain level of skill.Buy these objects from Build Mode to build the Media Production skill:Using the stations, your Sim can record and mix music, or record and edit videos to build skill. The higher their skill level, the more interactions unlock.
- Mix Master Music Station
- The More Choices Video Station
- The More Views Video Station
- Up and Adam Streaming Drone
If you own The Sims 4 Discover University Expansion Pack, your Sim can attend skill-building classes. These are rabbit-holes, so your Sim will leave the Lot for some time and then come back when the class is over. Note: Skill Classes are only available between 9 a.m.–9 p.m.
- 1In Live Mode, select your Sim’s phone.
- 2Open the Business app (the briefcase icon).
- 3Choose Sit in on Skill Class (§250).
- 4In the pop-up menu, choose Media Production. Your Sim will leave the Lot and gain Media Production skill while at the class.
If you own The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack, your Sim can learn or teach the Media Production skill using the Sharing is Caring Whiteboard. You’ll find this in Build Mode.
Media Production skill levels
As your Sim builds the Media Production skill, they’ll unlock new rewards, abilities, and interactions along the way. A green progress bar will appear above your Sim’s head and gradually fill up as they’re building a skill. You can also check their progress by:- 1Entering Live Mode.
- 2Selecting the Sim Panel (bottom left).
- 3Selecting the Skills tab.
At this level, Sims can:
- Record and edit videos
- Record and mix music
At this level, Sims can:
- Add Transitions to videos on the Video Station
- More tracks and remixes are available on the Music Station
At this level, Sims can:
- Add Effects on the Video Station
- Combine Videos on the Video Station
At this level, Sims can:
- Produce more tracks on the Music Station
- Additional remix options unlock on the Music Station
At this level, your Sim has mastered the Media Production skill.
Media Production skill cheats
When using skill cheats, type in the number of the level you want to reach. For example, putting stats.set_skill_level minor_media 3 into the cheat bar will get your Sim’s Media Production skill up to level 3.PC and Mac
