About the Nectar Making skill
- The Nectar Making skill comes with The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack, and is a level 5 skill.
- Use this skill to craft Nectar in different flavors, store them for special occasions, and even sell them to make a profit!
- Elder, Adult, Young Adult, and Teen Sims can all build this skill.
- This skill is needed to complete The Expert Nectar Maker Aspiration.
How to build Nectar Making skill
There are multiple ways for your Sim to build the Nectar Making skill. Some interactions are only unlocked when your Sim reaches a certain level of skill.To make Nectar, you’ll need to buy the Rootin’ Fruit’n Nectar Maker from Build Mode. In the crafting menu you’ll have two options:
- Purchase Basic Ingredients: select ingredients to buy to use for making Nectar. Once purchased, these will appear in your Sim’s Personal Inventory.
- Craft Nectar: here you’ll see all Nectar types; the ones your Sim doesn’t have enough skill to craft will be grayed out until you reach that skill level.

If you own The Sims 4 Discover University Expansion Pack, your Sim can attend skill-building classes. These are rabbit-holes, so your Sim will leave the Lot for some time and then come back when the class is over. Note: Skill Classes are only available between 9 a.m.– 9 p.m.
- 1In Live Mode, select your Sim’s phone.
- 2Open the Business app (the briefcase icon).
- 3Choose Sit in on Skill Class (§250).
- 4In the pop-up menu, choose Nectar Making. Your Sim will leave the Lot and gain the Nectar Making skill while at the class.
If you own The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack, your Sim can learn or teach the Nectar Making skill using the Sharing is Caring Whiteboard. You’ll find this in Build Mode.
Nectar Making skill levels
As your Sim builds the Nectar Making skill, they’ll unlock new rewards, abilities, and interactions along the way. A green progress bar will appear above your Sim’s head and gradually fill up as they’re building a skill. You can also check their progress by:- 1Entering Live Mode.
- 2Selecting the Sim Panel (bottom left).
- 3Selecting the Skills tab.
Don’t forget to clean out the Nectar Maker between uses, or it’ll impact the quality of the Nectar crafted!
The following Nectar recipes are unlocked:
- Apple Nectar: needs 3 x Apples
- Grape Nectar: needs 3 x Grapes
Your Sim will be able to craft Nectar faster, and the following Nectar recipes are unlocked:
- Strawberry Nectar: needs 3 x Strawberries
- Potato Nectar: needs 3 x Potatoes
The Nectar Maker won’t get dirty as fast, and the following Nectar recipes are unlocked: To get Prairie Grass, your Sim can grow it on their Lot. To make this even easier, give your Lot the Wild Prairie Grass Lot Challenge in the Venue Info menu. This will make Prairie Grass grow and spread even faster.
- Prairie Grass Nectar: needs 3 x Prairie Grass
- Trash Nectar: needs 3 x Trash Fruits
Your Sim will be able to craft Nectar even faster, and the following Nectar recipes are unlocked:
- Energy Nectar: needs 2 x Lemon and 1 x Any Herb
Once your Sim has maxed out the Nectar Making skill, Nectar made by them will take less time to fully age. The following Nectar recipes are unlocked: Need help getting a Death Flower? Check out our Death Flower guide for more info.
- Vitality Nectar: needs 1 x Death Flower and 2 x Spinach
- Berry Nectar: needs 3 x Any Berry or 3 x Any Jam
- Fruit Nectar: needs 3 x Any Fruit
Nectar Making skill cheats
When using skill cheats, type in the number of the level you want to reach. For example, putting stats.set_skill_level adultminor_ranchnectar 3 into the cheat bar will get your Sim’s Nectar Making skill up to level 3.PC and Mac
