Learn how to enable voice chat and adjust your settings on PC, Playstation®, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch™.
- Go to Settings by selecting the cogwheel on the bottom-right.
- Under Gameplay, scroll down to Accessibility settings.
- Make sure Disable Voice Chat is Off.
You can also choose accessible chat options here.
- To convert incoming voice chat to text, select Active next to Convert Incoming Voice to Text Chat.
- To play text chat from others as speech, turn on Play Incoming Text Chat as Speech.
- Go to Settings by selecting the cogwheel on the bottom-right.
- Select the Audio tab.
- Select your input device by toggling Voice Chat Input Device.
- Select your input method next to Voice Chat Record Mode.
- If you choose Open Mic, your mic will send voice messages automatically when sound goes above a certain threshold.
- If you choose Push to Talk, you’ll only send voice messages when you hold T on your keyboard. Only PC players can use Push to Talk.

Nintendo Switch™ players can also use voice chat in-game. Apex Legends isn’t compatible with the Nintendo Switch™ Online App.
To use voice chat, follow the steps in this article and make sure you have a headset compatible with your Nintendo Switch™.
