Help us improve Battlefield Hardline in the Community Test Environment

This article will explain the Community Test Environment for Battlefield Hardline and how you can get started on PC.

Battlefield Hardline gunman

You can help us improve Battlefield Hardline by testing new features, improved/changed content, and experiments not yet live in the Community Test Environment (CTE). CTE is available to Premium members.

Why we have the CTE

The CTE gives our players the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of Battlefield Hardline. Players can experience, test, and provide feedback on new content before anyone else can see it, and in doing so improve the Battlefield experience for everyone. The CTE also provides the ability to interact directly with Battlefield Hardline developers, whether at the end of a gun sight or in the forums.

How the CTE works

The CTE is a separate install from regular Battlefield Hardline. Eligible Premium players will be able to sign-up for the CTE through Battlelog and play on available servers through the CTE Battlelog site. These servers will be running maps, modes, new weapons, gadgets, or other content that the Battlefield Hardline Development Team wants players to test out and get player feedback upon.

When there are updates, we will let you know what features or gameplay aspects that we would like assistance testing or when special events are taking place (e.g. Play with the Devs Days). Otherwise, the servers will be configured to target the features in test, including fewer servers if we need to simulate real player experiences with full populations.

Please remember this is a test environment. While participating in the CTE, we encourage you to go to the Battlelog forums for instructions on how to report any bugs you may encounter. This will help us research and investigate any concerns with the CTE.

What’s available can change on a weekly basis, so be sure to regularly check on the Battlefield Hardline CTE to see what’s new!

Sign up to participate in the CTE

To access the CTE, you need an active Battlefield Hardline account with Premium membership on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation®3, Xbox One, or PlayStation®4. The CTE itself will be accessible on PC.

  1. Go to the Community Test Environment site.
  2. Sign up using your Origin login information.
    • The account should be the same one you use to play Battlefield Hardline.
  3. Log in to the Origin client with the same account.
  4. Go to your My Games library.
  5. Find the Battlefield Hardline CTE game tile and select Download.
  6. Install the Battlelog browser plugin when prompted (or use the orange arrow icon on the top menu bar).
  7. Make sure your browser is not blocking pop-ups. Check the browser address bar to unblock Battlelog if so.
  8. Review the CTE Guide pop-up to continue.
