Windows 7 and Windows 8 users may run into issues with the EA app. Get troubleshooting steps here.
Is Windows up-to-date?
Check to see if there’s any updates waiting to be installed. Being up-to-date may fix your issue.
Install DirectX® End-User Runtime
If updating Windows doesn’t fix the issue or if your computer is up-to-date, download the DirectX End-User Runtime Installer. This will install any missing libraries needed to use the EA app.
- Close the EA app on your computer.
- Visit the Microsoft page for the DirectX End-User Runtime installer.
- Select your language and click the Download button.
- Follow the installer’s instructions.
- Relaunch the EA app.
You should now be able to use the EA app to play your library of EA games and purchase new ones.
How can I turn off In-game overlay?
If your game uses Shift +F1 for the in-game overlay as an input, here’s how to turn that off:
- Click on your profile thumbnail in the EA app.
- Open Settings and choose Application.
- Turn off in-game overlay.
