Different types of SW:TOR accounts
SW:TOR offers three ways to play: Free-to-Play, Preferred, and Premium (Subscriber).Free-to-Play
Free-to-play means you can play the game without making any payment.You can play for free up to level 60, which includes original Class stories and the Rise of the Hutt Cartel and Shadow of Revan expansions. You have full access to unlimited Medical Probes and Quick Travel, and an extra Quickbar too.Character Slots: four active characters per server.Limitations: Restricted chat and trading with other players. You can only select rewards your character can use. You can join a guild but you can’t create one.Preferred Status
Preferred Status is granted to former subscribers and players who have purchased Cartel Coins in the past. Compared to free-to-play players, Preferred Status players have fewer restrictions.Character Slots: 12 active characters per server. Limitations: limited to the Combat Style set when you were subscribed.Perks: faster movement (Sprint) from Level 1, access to Cargo Hold, more chat and trading options than Free-to-play, and five Quickbars.Subscribers (Premium Players)
When you subscribe to SW:TOR you’ll gain full access to the game, including all expansions and game features. Character Slots: up to 24 active characters per server.Perks: complimentary Cartel Coins every 30 days based on subscription type.After your subscription runs out, your SW:TOR account will be changed to Preferred Status. You’ll need to choose which of your characters will stay active and play within the Preferred active character slot limits.
