How to turn off aim assist in Apex Legends™

What’s aim assist?

In first-person shooters, the difference between a win and a loss can come down to who aims better. Aim assist helps you aim more accurately while playing Apex Legends with a controller.PC players using a mouse and keyboard can have an advantage over console players, so aim assist helps better balance the game. Aim assist is stronger for console players.  

Is aim assist turned on without advanced settings? 

Aim assist is automatically turned on for all console players and PC players using controllers.PC players using a mouse and keyboard don’t have aim assist.   

Is aim assist turned on in the Firing Range? 

If you have aim assist turned on, it’ll be active in the Firing Range. 

How to toggle aim assist on and off

 We don’t recommend turning off aim assist, as players using a mouse and keyboard have an advantage over players using controllers.If you want to try playing without aim assist, turn it off and practice in the Firing Range.

    Go to the Settings menu.

    Go to the Controller tab.

    Scroll down and select Advanced Look Controls…
  4. 4
    Find Target Compensation and toggle it to On or Off
  5. 5
    Turn Melee Target CompensationOn or Off, depending on whether you want to use aim assist for melee attacks.
