How to create custom teams in Super Mega Baseball 4

Super Mega Baseball 4 has default teams you can play and edit, but you can also create and customize your own. Learn how to create a custom team, what you can customize, and how to play your team in different game modes.

How to create a custom team from scratch

    Select Customization from the main menu.

    Select Create Custom League or choose one of your existing custom leagues.

    Select the plus sign (+) next to Open Slot.
    • If there’s no Open Slot, use the delete button (X) next to one of the existing teams to open one.

    Choose Create New on the bottom left of the screen.

    Pick a Team Design. This will determine your team’s logo and uniforms, but it’s not permanent. You can leave it as-is and customize it later.

    Select Create Team. 
Your custom team is assigned to the league you created it in. If you delete that league, your team will be deleted with it. 

How to edit and customize your team

Now that your team is created, you can customize its traits and players:

    Select Customization from the main menu.

    Choose the league your team is in.

    Click Edit next to your team. 
From there, use the customization tabs to edit your team. 
  • Team Visuals: Here’s where you can edit the Team Design you chose when creating your team. You can also pick what park you play and its sound effects. Select Edit Team Logo to change your logo and team name, Edit Uniforms to customize your uniforms’ style, and Edit Players to update individual players. 
  • Cards: Check out each player’s card and make changes to its looks. 
  • Team Photo: View your team’s photo. Your photo will change if you update your team’s visuals.
  • Roster: Edit each player’s looks, abilities, and traits. 
  • Default Lineup: Make changes to your batting order and bench lineup. 

Can you edit Standard teams and leagues?

If you want to use a Standard league (like The Legends League or Super Mega League), you can edit the visuals of your team but not the skills or traits of your players. You can only change players’ traits on a custom team. 

How to use custom teams in-game

You can use custom teams in Shuffle Draft, Exhibition, Season, Franchise, and Elimination modes, as long as you’re playing a custom league. When you enter a game mode from the main menu, your custom team will be available in the list of playable teams. Pennant Race only allows Standard teams, but you can still make visual changes—you just can’t edit your players’ skills or traits. 

Online modes support custom teams, but your ability to use a custom team online depends on the league you join.

You can make a copy of a team in a new league, but you can’t move teams between leagues.When you copy one of your custom teams, it becomes a new team on its own. Changes will only apply to the version you’re editing.
