Career types in The Sims 4
There are three career types in The Sims 4:- Careers: When it’s time to go to work, your Sim will leave the Lot and return after their shift has ended. This is sometimes described as a rabbit hole, since you don’t see what happens while your Sim is away. Many of these careers include branches. This means that when your Sim is promoted to a certain rank, you can choose between two career branches for them to specialize in.
- Professions: These are also known as active careers. Professions give you the option to travel to work with your Sim and play an active role in their career by helping them perform their duties. This career type is available in The Sims 4 Get to Work Expansion Pack, The Sims 4 Life & Death Expansion Pack, and The Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator Stuff Pack.
- Part-time jobs: Like Careers, these are also rabbit holes. Your Sim will go to work and return after their shift has ended. Most part-time careers in The Sims 4 come with two shift options: morning or evening.
