How to level up in Apex Legends™

As you play Apex Legends, you gain experience (XP). The amount of XP you have determines your level. When you have enough XP, you’ll reach a new level and get a reward.

What’s the max level in Apex Legends?

The max level is level 2000, which is split into four tiers of 500.

Level resets in Apex Legends

To get to level 2000, you have to play through four tiers of 500 levels.

When you reach the 500th level of a tier, your level will be reset to 1 until you reach level 500 of tier four (level 2000). Level 2000 is the max level you can earn.

If your level has been reset to 1, you’ve reached a new tier of the system.

Level badges in Apex Legends

You earn badges for leveling up. You’ll get a new badge design every 20 levels.

Account levels vs Ranked levels

Your account level isn’t linked to your Ranked level (the rank you earn, like Bronze, Silver, or Gold, for playing through Ranked).

• Leveling up outside of Ranked won’t change what Ranked tier you’re in.
• XP you earn in Ranked matches counts towards your total XP, so playing Ranked matches will help you level up.

There are lots of ways to gain XP in Apex Legends. You can earn XP by:

• winning a match
• finishing in the top five of a match
• killing enemies
• killing members of the champion squad
• becoming the champion squad (the squad that finished highest in the last match) or the match kill leader (the player with the most kills in a match).

What’s the fastest way to level up?

If you want to level up fast in Apex Legends, there are a few ways to maximize your XP.

1. Playing with friends gives you bonus XP. Whenever possible, team up with a full squad to get the most experience.
2. Stick with your squad: the longer your squad survives, the more XP you earn, so play your matches carefully.
3. Reviving and respawning allies will give you XP. Protect your squad, and you’ll be rewarded.
4. Feeling confident? Kill strategically by targeting the champion squad.
