How to download, install, and update the EA app

1. Go to the EA app page on ea.com.
2. Choose between the EA app for PC or Mac.
3. Select Download.
4. If you’re on Mac, drag and drop the EA app icon onto the Applications icon when prompted on-screen.

What are the EA app’s minimum requirements?

The EA app is only available on PC or Mac. Make sure your device meets the EA app’s minimum requirements before downloading it onto your PC or Mac.

You might need to upgrade your device’s operating system to use the EA app.

• Check if you need to update your PC to use the EA app.
• Check if you need to update your Mac to use the EA app.

The EA app is not compatible with Chromebooks, since they don't have Microsoft Windows.

What are the minimum requirements for EA games?

Every game has its own minimum requirements to play. To find the minimum requirements for a specific game:

1. In the EA app Store, select a game to learn more about it in the Game Hub.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. This is where you’ll see the system requirements for the game.

1. Once you download the EA app, open the installer, and follow the instructions.
2. Launch the EA app.
3. Log in to the EA app using your EA Account details, or create an EA Account if you don’t have one yet.

Check your tech

Double-check that your PC or Mac meets the requirements needed to use the EA app.

If you’re on PC, make sure you’re running the EA app as an administrator. You can also try adding the EA app and your games as exceptions to see if that fixes installation issues.

1. Close the EA app.
2. Right-click the EA app icon on your desktop (or in the EA app installation folder if it's not on your desktop) and select Run as Administrator.
3. Add EADesktop.exe, EALauncher.exe, and EABackgroundService.exe to your anti-virus and firewall allow lists. Learn how to add exclusions to your Windows Security settings here.

Check your connection

1. Make sure you're connected to the internet, either hardwired with an ethernet cable or through Wi-Fi.
2. Try restarting your router. Switch it off and unplug it for 15 seconds. Then, plug it back in and power it up.
3. Once you're reconnected to the internet, download and install the EA app again.

Restart or reset your download

If you hit an error in the middle of your installation, you'll need to start over. You'll also need to delete any files that were successfully installed before you experienced the error.

1. Find your EA app installation folder.
   • On PC: By default, the EA app installation folder is at C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop.
   • On Mac: Open Finder and press command + shift + G simultaneously. Then, search /Library and go to Application Support > Electronic Arts > EA app.
2. Delete the EA app.
   • On PC: Right-click the second folder (C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop) and click Delete, then Yes.
   • On Mac: Right-click the EA app folder and select Move to Bin.
3. Redownload the EA app installer.
4. Open the installer and follow the instructions.

The EA app is designed to keep itself up-to-date. This means when you log in, it’ll automatically update to the newest version.

If the app is running when a new update launches, it won’t update automatically. Exit the app and restart it to begin the update.
