Cross-play lets you play NHL® 25 with friends, across different console types.
For example, if you're playing on PlayStation® 5 and your friend is on Xbox Series X|S, you can team up or compete against each other in online modes like World of Chel and Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT).

In NHL® 25, you can use EA connect to add, invite, and play with friends across different console platforms. EA connect is an in-game menu that enables cross-platform and group play across EA games and platforms.

Once you’ve loaded the main menu of the game, you’ll see the option to launch EA connect on the bottom right of your screen. To play with friends across different platforms, you’ll need to add them to your friends list in EA connect. For more details read our guide on how to use EA connect.

Cross-play is enabled by default. Here’s how to turn it off:

1. Go to Settings in the World of Chel Hub.
2. Select Cross-play.
3. Select Disable cross-play.

Select the setting to Enable cross-play to turn it back on.

Cross-play expands the pool of players you can match with, which can lead to shorter wait times when finding games.

HUT Leaderboards are console-specific, and you’ll only see scores from players on the same platform as you. For example, if you play NHL® 25 on PlayStation® 5, you’ll only see scores from other PlayStation® 5 players.

The Auction House in HUT is shared between PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S players.
