Overview
All Apex Legends players automatically have Cross Progression, which lets you access your Apex Legends account, progress, and cosmetics across PC, PlayStation®, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2. To use Cross Progression, your platform account needs to be linked to your EA Account. Read on to learn how Cross Progression works, learn about account merging, and get help with missing content and progress.
How does Cross Progression work?
Apex Legends players automatically have access to Cross Progression. To use it, your platform account has to be linked to your EA Account. You can check what accounts are linked to your EA Account in your Account Portal.If you haven’t already linked your accounts, learn how to link a platform account to your EA Account.
Where is my Apex Legends progress kept?
Your Apex Legends progress is permanently tied to your EA Account. It can’t be moved to a different EA Account.I don’t have an EA Account

Can I merge Apex Legends accounts?
No, you can only have one Apex Legends profile per EA Account. You can’t create separate profiles or sub-accounts under one EA Account.Smurfing, where experienced players create additional Apex Legends accounts to disrupt beginners, is against our Rules of Conduct. Your Apex Legends progress is tied to your EA Account. If you unlink from your EA Account, you’ll lose access to your game progress and content, like rewards and in-game purchases. You might also have issues with Battle Pass leveling, item unlocks, and other errors. If you need to relink to your EA Account, you can do it from the Account Portal.
- If you relink back to your EA Account, your progress will still be there.
- If you link to a different EA Account, you won’t be able to access your old progress or content.
EA Accounts can sometimes be merged, but you need to contact us for help.

How was Cross Progression added to my account?
Cross Progression was added to Apex Legends in October, 2023. If you had an Apex Legends account before then, Cross Progression was added to your account. Here’s an overview of what might have changed.If you only had one Apex Legends account when we introduced Cross Progression, there were no changes to your account.
If you had more than one Apex Legends account linked to your EA Account when we introduced Cross Progression, your accounts were merged to create a single Cross Progression account. The profile with the highest account level is now your Cross Progression account.
If your Apex Legends progress was spread across multiple EA Accounts, then your accounts weren’t merged. You can use Cross Progression on your separate EA Accounts, but the content from these accounts hasn’t been merged together.
You can’t move progress from one EA Account to another. Unlinking a platform from your EA Account and linking it to another one won’t move your progress.

You might be missing content after Cross Progression was added to your account if: We can’t restore content that was lost during the merge or that hasn’t been merged.
