Create a custom NFL player in Superstar mode and start your journey. Build or import your player, pick a position and starting point, customize your appearance, skills, gear, and more.
How do I create a new player in Superstar?
New to Superstar? Learn how to play Superstar in Madden NFL 27.
- import your Road to Glory player into Superstar, if you played EA SPORTS™ College Football 27
- create a brand new player in Superstar.
- Launch Madden NFL 27 and go to the main menu.
- Choose Superstar.
- Select Enter Superstar.
1. Choose your position
Your position is one of the most important choices you’ll make during player creation. Every position has its own strengths, along with unique builds, abilities, and attributes, so pick the one that best fits how you want to play.Available positions include:- Quarterback
- Halfback
- Tight End
- Wide Receiver
- Cornerback
- Edge Rusher
- Free Safety
- Linebacker
When you choose a position for your player, you can’t create another Superstar for the same position. You can create other players for the remaining positions to experience their unique progression path.
2. Choose your starting point
Decide how your player will start their career. Your choice will impact your overall draft projection and the amount of Creation Points you get.You have three starting points to choose from.Day 1

Day 3
If you choose Day 1 as your starting point, you’ll:
- be a top draft prospect with a strong chance of earning a starting role
- have a 1st round draft projection
- get 187 Creation Points.
3. Create your profile
Customize your player’s basic info.- First Name
- Last Name
- Number
- Handedness (Left or Right)
- Hometown
- College
4. Customize your appearance
Customize your player’s face, skin tone, eye color, skin details, and tattoos.
Customize your player’s hairstyle, hair color, and facial hair.
Equip your player with some Gameplay Animations to customize how your player moves, throws, and performs other actions on the field.
Customize the gear your player wears in these categories:When you’ve finished customizing your player’s appearance, select Continue.

- Feet
5. Customize your skills
Next, it’s time to customize your player’s skills. The options available in this category depend on the starting position you chose for your player. Here are some examples of customization options for your player.- This determines your player’s Abilities.
- You can choose from an existing Archetype or create a custom one.
- To check what Abilities come with an Archetype, select View Ability Info.
- Here, you can check Archetype Abilities across these skills categories:
- Core
- Physicals
- Mentals
- Specialties
- X-Factors
- Select your Body Type and use the sliders to adjust your height and weight.
- These factors determine your base physical stats and affect physical ratings, position-specific ratings, and core skill impacts.
- Use Creation Points to choose the skills and physical attributes you want your player to begin with.
- Prioritize attributes that best fit your Archetype’s natural strengths. However, remember that focusing your points on one area can help create a standout strength, but it may limit how much you can improve other attributes.
- You have to spend all your Creation Points before you can continue to the next step of player creation.
6. Spend your Skill Points
During player creation in Superstar, the availability of Skill Points and skills categories may depend on your player's starting position and Archetype.

- Power
- Throw Accuracy
- Improvisation
- Core Skill Points
As you progress through Superstar, you’ll earn more Skill Points. To spend them:
- 1Launch Superstar and go to the Superstar menu.
- 2Select Skills.
- 3Browse the skill category tabs and choose where to spend your Skill Points.
7. Complete your profile
Congratulations, you’ve built your dream NFL player! Before you take them to the field, review your custom player’s:- Archetype overview
- Max Skill Ratings
- Physical Ratings
- Key Abilities
Can I edit my Superstar player after I finish creating them?
After you finish creating your Superstar player, you can still edit and customize certain parts of them.Go to the main Superstar menu and select Character > Change Gear. Then, browse each tab to customize your gear, appearance, and more.- Customize your player’s uniform and gear.
- Equip your Avatar with some showboating methods and choose personalized Celebrations, Emotes, and Gameplay Animations for your player to use in-game.
- Get Boosts to increase the amount of XP you earn for a limited time, letting you level up your player faster.
- Make adjustments to your player’s Head & Tattoos or Hair.
- Make adjustments to your player’s basic info:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Number
- Handedness (Left or Right)
- Hometown
- College
How do I import my Road to Glory player into Superstar?
Player import from Road to Glory in EA SPORTS™ College Football 27 to Superstar in Madden NFL 27 is available on PC, PlayStation®5 and XBOX Series X|S.Learn more about transferring your Road to Glory player.
- you’re connected to the internet
- both games are fully updated
- you’re logged into both games using the same EA Account.
- 1Launch College Football 27 and select Road to Glory.
- 2In the Road to Glory menu, select the Actions tab and choose Leave for the NFL.
- 3Select Export Player to Madden.
- 4When you get confirmation that your player export was successful, launch Madden NFL 27 and select Superstar.
- 5Choose the position that matches the Road to Glory player you exported from College Football 27. Then, select Import.
