Overview

You can use Playmaker to redirect your nearest receiver after the snap. Hold LT + Right Stick on XBOX, L2 + Right Stick on PlayStation®, ZL + Right Stick on Nintendo Switch™ 2, or use W/A/S/D on PC. Use it when your primary read is covered, a route collapses, or you want to attack open space in zone coverage.

What’s Playmaker?

The Playmaker mechanic lets you redirect your nearest receiver after the snap, letting you adapt to the game and change your strategy. You might use it to:
  • direct receivers away from collapsed routes
  • guide your receiver into space when your primary read is covered
  • attack open pockets in zone coverage.

How do I use Playmaker?

  1. 1
While controlling the quarterback, hold LT + Right Stick on XBOX, L2 + Right Stick on PlayStation®, ZL + Right Stick on Nintendo Switch™ 2, and on PC, W/A/S/D to pass to the closest receiver.
  2. 2
Flick your right stick on the controller orselect the directional arrows on the keyboard in the direction you want your nearest receiver to move.
Your nearest receiver will move in the direction you flicked. If they don’t change direction, make sure you’re holding the correct controls to control the quarterback.
