Apex Legends Seasons typically last three months and introduce new content, cosmetics, and more.

Shockwave, the 22nd Season of Apex Legends, launches on August 6, 2024. Read the patch notes.

Revive faster with new Revival modes

Respawns just got quicker and easier in Revival Trios and Straight Shot. Instead of using Legend Banners and Respawn Beacons, you can now respawn for a limited amount of time after you’ve been killed.

One member of your squad has to be alive for you to respawn, and you can’t respawn once you’re through the fourth Ring. Once you respawn, you’ll skydive down to a safe spot near one of your teammates.

Enemy Highlights and Health Bars

Play smart this Season with Enemy Highlights and Health Bars.

  • Enemy Health Bars: see a health bar above your enemy’s head after you damage them. This health bar lasts for three seconds as long as your enemy is in your line of sight.
  • Enemy Highlights: if you have a line of sight on your enemy and they’re within 50m of you, your enemy will be highlighted with a color. Their highlight color represents their distance from you.

Akimbo Pistols

Two weapons are better than one. When you find a second copy of a pistol, akimbo is activated.

  • Use two of the same kind of pistols at once.
  • Akimbo weapons only take up one weapon slot.
  • Dying or dropping your weapon splits akimbo pistols back into two.

Play against bots in Bot Royale

Get some practice and hone your aim with a new bot mode. Play alone, with a squad of AI teammates, or with a premade squad against bots.

Battle Pass

There are now two Battle Passes per Season: one for the first split of the Season and another for the second.

You can earn Season 22’s first Battle Pass by completing a set of challenges within the first six weeks of this Season. Check in-game for more details.

Power up your squad with loot bin updates

Loot bins have been upgraded this Season, making it easier for your team to grab higher value weapons.

  • At the start of each match, a Mythic loot bin containing a Care Package weapon and other high-value loot will spawn. You can see this loot bin on your map, and it’ll take longer than normal to open.
  • Halfway through a match, loot bins will close and refresh. These loot bins will have a higher chance of high tier or rare loot. Some loot bins will also convert into Legendary loot bins which contain smart loot for your squad.
