Sparrow guide: Apex Legends™ tips and strategies

This agile archer plays things smart and fast. As a Recon Legend, he brings strategy to the squad, with unique abilities that help him move fast, track enemies, and force your opponents into combat.

• Passive: Double Jump.
  • Perform a second jump in the air or press jump to launch up a wall.
• Tactical: Tracker Dart.
  • Shoot a trap that reveals enemies who walk within its’ line of sight.
• Ultimate: Stinger Bolt.
  • Shoot a large arrow into the ground that will charge and then release six damaging blasts.

Why main Sparrow

Sparrow’s a good pick if you:

• like knowing where enemies are
• enjoy scouting
• like playing the edge of fights, jumping in and out to deal poke damage.

1. Scout it out

Sparrow’s passive and tactical abilities make him perfect for scouting and recon, as he can move fast and gather intelligence about who’s around.

Send Sparrow to see where enemy teams are and activate Survey Beacons from afar.

If you want to keep out of combat, use Double Jump to take the high ground while you move across the map.

2. Jump to safety

Double Jump is your personal launchpad, and you can use it however you need.

Caught outside the Ring, or need to escape a fight? Double Jump to reposition, get out of the way, or flank from above.

If you’re in combat and want to push, jumping against walls can help you quickly reposition, confuse your enemies, and stay alive for longer.

3. Hunt your enemies

Stay one step ahead of enemy squads with Sparrow’s tactical ability, Tracker Dart.

Fire it ahead or behind you to see if enemies are nearby, or see if players are hiding in buildings you want to explore.

But be careful where you send your arrows. If an enemy spots one, they’ll know you’re around and ruin your advantage.

4. Control choke points

When other squads get in your way, make them move. Use Sparrow’s ultimate, Stinger Bolt, to force enemies out and get the action going.

If enemies are hiding out, controlling areas you need to move through or trying to heal each other, you can use Stinger Bolt to cause chaos.

Combined with grenades and other attacks, Stinger Bolt makes the perfect entry for your team to push and score some kills.

5. Pick your playstyle

• Up for combat? Stick with your squad, survey the area, and use Double Jump to deal damage from above or get away when you’re injured.
• Want a slower game? Focus on scouting out and avoiding enemy teams as you move quickly from zone to zone.
