How to unlink your platform from an EA Account

You can switch your linked accounts up to 3 times in a rolling year, but choosing the right account from the start is still the safest way to keep your account secure. Always link to an account you'll keep long-term to preserve your progress and purchases.
To unlink your EA Account from any connected platform (like Steam, Twitch, Epic Games, Amazon Prime Gaming, or Facebook), follow these steps:
  1. 1
Go to the Connected Accounts tab in your EA Account settings portal.
  2. 2
Find the platform account you want to unlink and select the  Unlink option.
    • Select Revoke to unlink an authorized third-party app from the Authorized Applications section.
  3. 3
Read the disclaimer and make sure you want to unlink, knowing all the risks.
  4. 4
You might be asked to verify your identity–follow the prompts to do so.
Heads-up: if you unlink your platform account and link it to a different EA Account, any entitlements, like in-game rewards, points, and items, will remain on the EA Account that your platform was first linked to. If the Unlink button is grayed out, your EA Account isn’t eligible to relink. Find out what unlinking troubleshooting steps are available for you.

What are the risks?

When you unlink a platform account from your EA Account, you can link it to another EA Account, but your game progress won’t transfer over. That means you’ll permanently lose access to:
  • game progress
  • DLC, expansions, and anything extra you have for your game
  • memberships and subscriptions
  • previous drops and other rewards
  • in-game purchases.
