Learn how to help your child Sim get the Good Upbringing trait, which will give them bonuses when they age up to adult Sims.

What is the Good Upbringing trait in The Sims Mobile?

When you create a household with an adult Sim, that Sim can earn four traits max before they retire. However, if you have children in your household, you can help them get the Good Upbringing trait. It’s an additional fifth trait that’s earned as a child and used when they age up into an adult Sim.

How does the Good Upbringing trait work?

Unlike other traits, your playable adult Sim can unlock this trait for their children, but not for themselves. You can have children living in your household,  but they’ll remain non-playable characters (NPCs) until they age up to an adult and take an available household slot. Since child Sims can’t earn the Good Upbringing trait themselves, it’s up to your playable adult Sims to complete Events and unlock it for them.
If you unlock the Good Upbringing trait for your child Sim, it won’t take effect until your child Sim ages into an adult Sim. You’ll also need a free household slot to age up your child Sim and make them playable. Learn more about life stages and aging in The Sims Mobile.

How to earn the Good Upbringing trait for a child Sim

Here’s how to help your child Sim earn and use the Good Upbringing trait once they age up to an adult.

First, you’ll need the Stork’s Visit Bassinet. To unlock the bassinet, your Sim needs:
  • a player level of 11 or more
  • a relationship level of 3 or more with another Sim (this doesn’t have to be a romantic relationship)
  • to complete the Baby Quest.

When you have the bassinet, place it in your house. Select it and choose one of the following options:
  • Adopt a baby
  • Have a baby.
If you adopt a baby, you can pick the gender (boy or girl). If you have a baby by WooHooing, you won’t get to choose your baby’s gender.

To get the Good Upbringing trait for your child Sim, make sure to complete Family Events with them during their childhood.The Good Upbringing trait can have 1 to 3 stars, depending on how many Events you complete. If you complete three Events with your child, they'll get a 3-star Good Upbringing trait.Select the Family Icon over your child Sim’s head to start a Children Event.A game screen shows a Sim standing by a bassinet, with a Bundle of Joy panel showing a Start Event button on the right.

What rewards will a Sim with the Good Upbringing trait get?

The Good Upbringing trait gives your children bonuses when they age up, become playable, and start participating in their own Events.  As an adult, a Sim with the Good Upbringing trait will get random bonuses during all Events. The more stars in the Good Upbringing trait, the better the rewards.
