Earn Event Points by completing Contest HQ Assignments during Events that have an Event Track.

Check the pink Plumbob icon beside the regular green Plumbob icon on an Assignment card to see how many Event Points you’ll earn for that Assignment. You can also earn bonus Event Points by making in-app purchases.

How do I claim my unlocked rewards after the Event ends?

  1. Go to the Event Track reward card.
  2. Find the reward you’ve unlocked.
  3. Select the Claim button.

Each reward has to be unlocked and claimed individually, and unclaimed prizes will be lost after the Event ends.

The SimCity BuildIt Design Challenge is a PvP (player-versus-player) mode where Mayors can showcase their design skills in Contests. Mayors can earn Blueprints for completing and submitting a Challenge, meeting Bonus goals, and getting votes from other players for their designs.

You can then use Blueprints to collect rewards like Simoleons, keys, and buildings in the Design Challenges Season’s Reward Track. As you climb the Design Leagues, you’ll start each Challenge with more Design Currency, unlock new League-only rewards, and earn more Blueprints.

To start earning rewards:

  1. Go to the Capital City page, then tap on the Plumbob icon to find Design Challenges.
  2. Select Challenge from the Design Challenge menu, then Start!. Complete the Challenge within the allotted time and meet any bonus goals lists. Submit your Challenge entry to get Blueprints.
  3. Select Vote from the Design Challenge menu. You can vote at City Level 9. You can only vote for three sets every eight hours. After each voting round, you’ll get a random reward.

To start designing in Design Leagues, you’ll need to be at City Level 17. Start in the Bronze Design League and compete against other players’ designs in the same league. Gain Elo when players choose your design. Lose Elo when players choose your opponents’ designs. The more your designs get voted for, the higher you’ll climb.

Monster Trouble is a War feature you can fight in SimCity BuildIt. The monster is available when you reach a maximum population of 12,000 with a City Level 8 and higher or when you reach City Level 16. It will appear in your Capital City water and leave once you chase it away or when the timer for the monster’s appearance runs out.

It comes in three different star levels, based on your War Rank. The higher the level of the Monster, the higher its health will be. However, the higher the level, the better rewards you’ll get for beating it.

How do I chase the Monster away?

To defeat it, launch War Disasters at it. Disasters like Electric Deity and Doomsday Quack are not available to chase the Monster Trouble away, so you may need to get creative with your attacks.

What rewards can I earn?

When you successfully chase the Monster away, you’ll earn an additional chest. The chest and score milestone rewards vary and can include War Disaster cards, golden keys, Simoleons, and many other game items.

Tap the mysterious building to the right of your Global Trade HQ and meet the shadowy Dr Vu. Follow Dr Vu’s guidance to start construction on Vu Tower. He’ll help you increase your Golden Key haul.

Tap Vu Tower again to see your Disaster menu appear. Choose which type of diabolical Disaster to unleash upon your city. Launch Disasters to earn Simoleons or Golden Keys to spend on your Specialization buildings and Vu points for upgrading Vu Tower and unlocking more Disaster types.

How do I launch a disaster?

You’ll need Dr. Vu’s Special Items. The Special Items needed to launch this Disaster appear on the left. If you don’t have the required items right now and need more time to gather them, return to your city by tapping the blue X. If time is short, you can also purchase the items with SimCash.

To launch the Disaster:

  1. Drag the round Meteor icon over the beam of light.
  2. Slide Dr. Vu’s Special Items to the right.
  3. Press the red button on Dr Vu’s terrible control unit to collect your Vu Points and launch a disaster.

What rewards can I earn?

You could receive a randomly selected number of Keys and Vu Points. Vu Points go towards your next Vu Tower upgrade.

You can unlock Vu’s Pass when you have a City Level 8 or greater and a population of 12,000 or more. This is the same as when you unlock the City Monster feature. Once you’ve unlocked Vu’s Pass, you can find it on the right-hand menu on the War Map or the City Monster sections. From there, you can make progress through the pass by earning War Points. You’ll also get Season rewards by earning more War Points.

Each Vu Pass Season has three levels, each one more difficult than the last. Check back in the News Section or Vu Pass section of the app regularly for the latest info on the next Season.

What is a Premium Vu Pass?

You can buy a Premium Vu Pass any time during a Season. After you buy it, you’ll be able to get all the rewards from previous tiers.

Your Premium Pass only applies to the current Season. You’ll need to buy a new Premium Pass each Season.
