How to start a Kickabout

Kickabouts are multiplayer games you can play across all three districts of The Grounds. Each Kickabout has an information board that explains its rules.To start a Kickabout:
  1. 1
Open the map in The Grounds.
    • The map icon is located at the top left of your screen.
  2. 2
Select the Kickabout you want to play.
  3. 3
Select Travel when available, or make your way to the pitch.
  4. 4
Check the information board for the activity rules.
  5. 5
Enter the queue zone and select Play.
  6. 6
Wait for the required number of players to join.
The queue shows how many players the Kickabout needs and how many people are waiting.While you wait, you can watch the current match from the sidelines. Some activities start a separate match without waiting for the current pitch to become available.

How to check the rules

Check the information board next to a Kickabout before entering the queue.Player stands next to the Bucket Ball info board overlooking a football pitch. The board explains:
  • how to play the activity
  • how it works
  • how to win or score points.
It can also show activity-specific information, including whether AMPs apply.

Why isn’t my Kickabout starting?

Check the queue to see how many players the activity needs and how many have joined. You might have to wait because:
  • there aren’t enough players in your current Grounds world
    • you can check the map for white dots to find areas where more players are gathering
  • the current match isn’t over
  • there are too many matches happening for that specific Kickabout.

What types of Kickabouts can I play?

What’s the difference between Kickabouts and Street Football?

The 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 Street Football games around The Grounds aren’t Kickabouts.Street Football uses small-sided football matches, while Kickabouts have different rules, objectives, and mechanics.Both use a similar setup:
  • an information board explains the rules
  • a queue shows how many players are needed
  • the activity starts when enough players join.
Check the information board before joining to see the rules and win conditions.

Can you play Kickabouts with friends?
