Arriving just in time for Battlefest on November 16, 2016, Custom Games bring new challenges for all Battlefield 1 players. Find out more about Fog of War, Hardcore servers and Standard Issue Rifles.

Here’s what you need to know about our first three Custom Game types: FOG OF WAR See how well you can operate with severely limited visibility. On a battlefield shrouded in fog, with no minimap and soldier nameplates turned off, you’ll need to trust your instincts and have faith that you’ve got the skills to survive. Want to try it? Look for Fog of War under Custom Games. HARDCORE SERVERS Think regular games are a little too easy? Want to push yourself to be the best you can be? Hardcore mode may just be what you’re looking for. Find Hardcore Servers through the Server Browser or through the Custom Games tab. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect to find on a Hardcore server: Depending on the server settings, you may not have:

  • A minimap
  • Crosshairs
  • Spotting
  • Friendly Fire is enabled, so be careful you’re not hitting your allies.
  • With increased Bullet Damage enabled, you can expect 120% normal damage.
    • This means your shots do more damage, but incoming hits are much harder too.
STANDARD ISSUE RIFLES In this Custom Game mode, all classes are granted access to their faction’s standard issue rifle – and only that rifle. For example, the British Army standard issue rifle was the SMLE MKIII - a rifle without optics. Using this rifle will bring you closer to the historical experience of war in the trenches. Toggle on the Standard Issue Rifles option under Custom Games to enable this option, and experiment with enabling and disabling other weapon types to change up the way you play.
