How to help your team succeed in F1® 25

Here are some key tips to help you lead your team like a pro.

Manage drivers effectively

You’ll manage two drivers during the season. The stronger your lineup, the more points you can earn.

Try these tips to optimize your driver roster.

  • Choose a consistent lead driver and pair them with someone who has strong growth potential.
  • Go to Personnel > Drivers > Driver Market to scout new talent and negotiate with multiple drivers ahead of the contract window.
  • To build rapport with a driver, schedule a meeting with them before their contract opens.
  • Go to Personnel > Drivers > Driver Lineup to track each driver's form and morale. These can impact both performance and contract value.

Focus on strategic car upgrades

Your Engineering team handles car development, but your decisions guide the process. Whether you choose to focus on one driver’s car or develop both evenly, your upgrade choices should meet both strategy and track demands.

Heads-up: Prioritizing upgrades for your top performer can give you a competitive edge, but could also negatively impact morale and contract renegotiations.

Here are some tips on managing car development:

  • Go to HQ and select Engineering to:
    • keep track of things like Research, Development, and progress history
    • assign car upgrades and manage components
    • check for available facility improvements.
  • Choose research goals based on track types and driver feedback.
  • Spend resource points to begin development.
  • After developing a car part, assign the upgrade to a driver.

  • reducing development delays and upgrade failures
  • increasing morale
  • speeding up upgrade cycles.

Try these tips to optimize your Workforce.

  • Go to Personnel > Workforce to review and assign available staff.
  • Hire strategically based on your upgrade goals and season objectives.

Stay in control of finances

Managing your budget wisely not only helps your team stay afloat, but also lays the foundation for building a winning legacy.

A smart financial plan helps you shift resources between car development, driver salaries, facility upgrades, or wherever it’s most needed. It can also help you avoid Cost Cap penalties.

Try these tips for managing your team budget.

  • To track your spending, view your balance, and get a breakdown of expenses, go to the Corporate and select the Finances tab.
  • Stay under the Cost Cap to avoid penalties.
  • To support long-term progress, avoid overspending too early. Set aside some budget for emergencies, unexpected performance dips, and mid-season upgrades.

Adapt to the season

Each race weekend brings new challenges, and what worked one weekend might not work the next. For long-term success, stay flexible and adapt to each race’s unique demands.

Here are some tips for approaching each race strategically.

Check driver form and morale

  • Before a race, go to Personnel > Drivers > Driver Lineup to check your driver’s form and morale.
  • A driver with high form and morale is less likely to have difficulty if you set higher expectations or use more aggressive strategies.
  • If your lead driver is in poor form, try more conservative race strategies to minimize mistakes, or focus on your second driver instead.

Adjust for track demands

  • Familiarize yourself with track characteristics ahead of each race.
  • To give your driver the best chance at success, apply car upgrades based on track demands.
  • Here’s how to set up a car for different tracks.

Balance driver development

  • To balance driver development, use your second driver in lower-stakes races.
  • Letting your second driver gain race experience during less critical moments improves their skills, morale, and career stats. It can also help build a stronger overall team.
  • Developing your second driver gives you more tactical options if your lead driver falters, has poor form or morale, or if team dynamics shift unexpectedly.

Boost your brand

Your team’s brand impacts your income, reputation, and even your ability to attract skilled drivers and staff. Focus on building a strong brand for long-term success both on and off the track.

Here’s why boosting your brand matters.

  • Increased sponsor revenue
    • A higher Fan Rating unlocks bigger sponsorship deals and improves financial stability.
  • Faster fanbase growth
    • Performing well on and off the track helps build a larger fanbase, which can lead to increased merchandise sales and sponsor appeal.
  • Improved morale and media influence
    • Popular teams benefit from more positive media coverage, lifting morale and softening poor race results.
  • Stronger negotiating power
    • A strong brand image gives you an advantage in contract negotiations with both drivers and sponsors.

Try these tips to boost your team’s brand.

Earn Accolades

  • Accolades boost your Fan Rating and unlock better deals and perks, which can include attracting elite drivers or title sponsors.

Maximize Sponsorship deals

  • Choose sponsors whose goals align with your team’s strengths.
  • Go to Corporate > Title Sponsor and select the Sponsorship tab to renew or renegotiate deals as your brand grows.

Manage media interactions carefully

  • Positive, confident answers in media interviews improve fan perception and driver morale.
  • To avoid damaging your brand perception, handle public challenges and controversies carefully.

Hire high-profile drivers

  • High-profile drivers can give your brand an immediate boost and increase fan engagement.
